11/11/2009 - Il Premio Oscar DIABLO CODY sarà tra gli ospiti della prossima edizione del Courmayeur Noir in Festival. La sceneggiatrice di Juno torna anche in veste di produttore esecutivo con JENNIFER'S BODY, diretto da KARYN KUSAMA (Aeon Flux – Il futuro ha inizio) e interpretato da MEGAN FOX.

“Volevo scrivere qualcosa che riguardasse le mie paure – ha spiegato DIABLO CODY a proposito di Jennifer's Body – qualcosa che fosse un po’ teso e inquietante, ma allo stesso tempo divertente. Così ho cominciato a pensare a cosa mi spaventasse, e ho ho deciso: le ragazze al liceo sono spaventose!”.

Come in Juno, sebbene in versione horror, la CODY si occupa dell'età adolescenziale: “Non so dire perché i teenager siano le mie muse… semplicemente lo sono!”, ha dichiarato. “I ragazzi mi ispirano… sono affascinata dal linguaggio teen, dalla cultura giovane. Amo gli adolescenti perché sono in una sorta di Purgatorio. Non sono più dei bambini, ma allo stesso tempo non hanno ancora le responsabilità degli adulti. Iniziano a sperimentare la vita, ma con tutte le sue emozioni al massimo”.

DIABLO CODY ha vinto 18 premi per il suo debutto come sceneggiatrice di Juno, tra cui un premio 'WGA', un 'Independent Spirit Award' e un Oscar per la 'Miglior Sceneggiatura Originale'. Columnist per "Entertainment Weekly", la CODY ha collaborato a innumerevoli pubblicazioni. Nel 2004 ha firmato un libro autobiografico di grande successo, Candy Girl. Di recente ha scritto e ha co-ideato la serie dal titolo The United States of Tara, per la produzione esecutiva di STEVEN SPIELBERG. La serie vede protagonista Toni Colette.

Per quanto concerne JENNIFER'S BODY, è la storia di una bellissima cheerleader e della sua amica del cuore Needy, una timida nerd che frequenta il suo primo amore, Chip. Una sera, Needy accompagna Jennifer a un concerto dove la cheerleader spera di conquistare Nikolai, il cantante di un gruppo rock. L'esibizione è tragicamente interrotta da un incendio nel locale. Dopo quella notte, Jennifer non sarà più la stessa...

Oscar winner DIABLO CODY will be among the guests of the 2009 edition of the Courmayeur Noir in Festival. The screenwriter of Juno wrote and executive produced JENNIFER'S BODY, directed by KARYN KUSAMA (Aeon Flux) and starring MEGAN FOX.

“I wanted to write something that was about my fears” - said CODY about the new film - “something that was a little edgy and eerie, but also funny. So I started thinking about what's scary to me, and I decided that girls are scary!”

As in Juno, CODY once again tackles adolescents in JENNIFER'S BODY, though in the horror vein. “I don’t know why teenagers are my muses…they just are!” she said. “Teenagers inspire me. I'm fascinated with teen speak...with youth culture. I love adolescents because they're in a kind of purgatory. They're not kids anymore, and at the same time they don't have adult responsibilities. So they're just experiencing life, but with all these heightened emotions.”

CODY won 18 awards for her screenwriting debut Juno, including the 'WGA Award', an 'Independent Spirit Award' and the 'Best Original Screenplay' Oscar. JENNIFER'S BODY is the story of a beautiful cheerleader and her best friend Needy, a shy nerd dating her first love Chip. One evening, Needy and Jennifer go to a rock concert at which the cheerleader hopes to seduce Nikolai, the singer of the band. After a fire breaks out in the bar, Jennifer will no longer be the same…
