Synopsis
In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community is in denial about the teenager's recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort, preferring to turn a blind eye to the news that Voldemort has returned. Fearing that Hogwarts' venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort's return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge's Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army," Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.

We left Harry Potter grieving for the loss of one of his schoolmates, Cedric Diggory, and the only eye-witness of the rebirth of the Dark Lord.
In “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” Harry has just turned 15, he’s dealing with his hormones, and he’s a teenager with mood swings and he feel the responsibility that comes for being the only witness to Voldemort return to power.
For the first time Harry dealing with love, his first crush for the most popular girl at Hogwarts: Cho Chang. In “Order of the Phoenix” Harry has his plate full and this time all these topics are approached from a very grow-up point of view.
Now Harry’s movies are anymore for children, even this one has been rated “PG13”; definitely due to the last scene, but not merely to that. This instalment shows a very dark side of the human soul, it shows |

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter) have grown not just in height but as well into their roles. Now they are at ease play their parts, the chemistry among them is perceived by the audience. A standing ovation goes to Radcliffe who’s becoming an amazing actor, especially in the last scene, that one inside the Ministry, he’s just fantastic. The cast, even in this movie of the Harry Potter’s saga, is filled with outstanding actors and actresses. Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge) is one of a kind; she brings to life a hateful, sinister, ambiguous teacher with class, with style and a pinch of humour. Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) is on the screen for just five minutes but she lights up the scene, even though due to her role is rather difficult. Voldemort) the perfect actor for this role: just a few lines, just few movements and he takes the scene away. This time Sir Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore) is more like the one from Mrs. Rowling’s pen: wise, aging and calm. Hats off to Michael Goldenberg because he squeezed a 766-page book into a 2-hour-and-15-minute movie without leaving out too much. The director, a new one for this franchising, David Yates, has done a very personal and different job from the others: this time he had to deal with a very complex book, a book that has many layers of emotions, feelings wasn’t easy, but he made it through and the use of small flash-back was really well balanced. time will recognize that the plot has been loyal to the book and thanks to amazing visual effects the movie is definitely one of the best of the saga, at least so far.

"I read the book and, obviously, it’s very difficult not to be intrigued and interested when offered a chance to get involved, because the world is very rich and fantastic and some of the themes in this particular story are incredibly dark and grown up. It was very difficult not to want to join in, as it were. Even though the film franchise has been going on for four pictures now, the attitude of the producers was really to be kind of open to new ideas and new ways of pulling things in a slightly edgier, more emotional direction. Which is, of course, a good reflection of where book five is anyway and what Jo [J.K. Rowling] created in the first place. So you’ve got lots of the benefits and lots of the advantages of joining a franchise such as this as there is a production infrastructure in place. […]It’s a really exciting time to be at Hogwarts, because the characters are older and they’re dealing with really complex things. The cast is more interested in pushing themselves and being pushed as actors. It’s the best of both worlds. You still feel that you’re making a unique film and it’s your film, and it’s a very one-off story, but at the same time you’ve been given this tremendous reserve of resources if you need it. Jo’s work is full of really interesting thematic stuff. In our story, Harry’s having to deal with the whole issue of whether or not he’s being corrupted and been made bad by this connection he has with Voldemort. It’s classical. Anyone who’s ever been through those very turbulent, difficult teenage years where you find yourself growing angry and frustrated and those years are really formative, will be able to identify. They’re the years that can sometimes define you as a person. Some people can take that and develop in a positive way, and some people start on a route that ultimately leads them to difficult years. That’s what this film and story partly looks at - the very emotional and turbulent time when you’re growing up and you’re suddenly questioning everything about the world. You’re also discovering the world is quite a complex and complicated place, and all the adults around you don’t necessarily have all the answers; there might even be falling out amongst themselves about how to deal with issues and problems that are threatening them. And you discover how complicated you are within your own self. What Jo is brilliant at doing, ultimately, is exploring that universal truth regarding that transition to adulthood in this magical universe".

This friend read the book, and Umbridge is described as a short, ugly, toadlike woman, and I thought, 'Oh, thanks very much'" - Staunton plays her as an apple-cheeked schoolmarm—drenched in pink angora—who is restricting freedoms (and free thought) to 'protect' the students -
"There can't be any mess or any individuality" - Staunton says - "But, of course, that leads to brainwashed people. You may think that it's just a bunch of wand-waving, but there's a lot of proper acting going on".
DANIEL RADCLIFFE said: "Harry is angry. David (Yates) has taken the best aspects of the other films and added some grit that wasn't previously there." … "[That first kiss] Oh, that was fine. That wasn't one of the challenging parts really. I mean, that was — I was a bit nervous to start with but after that, after the first few takes, it became sort of very easy really".

RUPERT GRINT about changing director almost every movie: "It makes it different. I mean, the first time it happened, losing Chris [Columbus] was quite a big thing because he was my first ever director and my first ever film. It was quite different not having him in there. But we’ve had some really good ones, Alfonso [Cuaron], Mike Newell and this one’s been really good, David Yates. He’s quite laid back and much more calm. [He’s] calmer than the other ones we’ve had, so it’s been good".
EVANNA LYNCH - who plays Luna Lovegood - : "I loved her disarming honesty, her unassuming wisdom and her innocent purity. She has no masks or insecurities. She simply is." …"I do have a strange one, which is Luna/Dumbledore. I think they would be quite perfect. They're both so detached, so otherworldly and so comfortable with themselves and they have this uncommon fearlessness of death. They also both have quirky hobbies and deep minds and I can see them getting along a storm. I don't see this ship sailing, of course. It's just one which I think could have had potential, aided along by a time-turner".
KATIE LEUNG - who plays Cho Chang - "When he [my father] asked me to go down for audition, he wasn't really forcing me or anything, he was just suggesting, Although, when I got down to the last 100 people, he started to get kind of serious and he was like, 'Yeah, you've got to try your hardest'." … "My favourite thing about playing Cho was being able to be popular. She's popular among the boys and the girls and, um, that's not something that happens in real life." … "Cho's mentioned briefly in the books, but they try to cram so much into the films that I don't think there'll be room for her. DAVID HEYMAN, producer : "We had to cut out Ron and the quidditch, which disappointed me. But, ultimately, with the films what you have to do is you have to make choices. You're cutting down a 700-page book to a two-and-a-half hour film, so inevitably you have to lose something. And what we've chosen to do with the films is really take them from the point of view of Harry. It's Harry's journey, and things that relate to Harry and Harry's journey take center stage. Sometimes there's room for the occasional something else, but for the most part, it's Harry and his journey. So that Ron subplot was secondary to the central drive of the story. It is a shame, you know. There's so much in each of the films that I would like to have had in, but ultimately the film has to work as a cohesive thing, so that happens.
One thing that won't be cut is the book's darkness and intensity. In some ways it's darker. I think it's more intense than the previous films. I don't think it's darker, actually, than the fourth film. I think it's in the same wheelhouse in terms of darkness. It's definitely more intense because of the connection between Harry and Voldemort, because of Harry feeling isolated and ostracized, and I think that definitely adds intensity to the story. And, obviously, with what happens in the third act of the film [with a key death], that sort of emotional touch".
