- RLJ Entertainment has acquired North American rights to John Moore’s thriller I.T., starring Pierce Brosnan. The distributor plans to release the film in theaters and on VOD in September. In the feature, directed by Moore and written by Dan Kay and William Wisher, Jr., Brosnan plays a successful self-made man caught up in a high-stakes cat-and-mouse game with his information technology consultant, played by James Frecheville. The cast also includes Anna Friel and Stefanie Scott. I.T. is produced by David T. Friendly, Beau St. Clair, Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Flores, and is executive produced by Brosnan, Dominic Rustam, Frank Hildebrand, Elika Portnoy and Valentina Gardani. “We’re excited to work with the very talented Pierce Brosnan,” RLJE chief acquisition officer Mark Ward said Thursday in announcing the acquisition. “With Brosnan’s mass appeal and a well-written script with exciting twists and turns, the film will prove to be an audience favorite.” Ward negotiated the deal with Voltage, which repped the filmmakers.
