Rupert (Alexander Lloyd) Grint e’ un attore cinematografico e televisivo inglese ben conosciuto per interpretare il ruolo di Ron Weasley nella serie di film di Harry Potter.
Rupert e’ il piu’ grande di cinque figli nati da Nigel Grint, un rivenditore di oggettistica per le corse in auto e di Jo Parsone, casalinga. Ha un fratello, James e tre sorelle: Georgina, Samantha e Charlotte.
Prima di essere ingaggiato nei film di Harry Potter aveva lavorato soltanto in recite scolastiche e con un gruppo nel teatro locale: 'Top Hat Stage School'. Quando era un ragazzino gli fu assegnato il ruolo di pesce in una recita basata sulla storia dell’Arca di Noe.
Grint si e’ sempre proclamato un ammiratore dei libri di Harry Potter, perciò era anche interessato ad avere una parte nei film. Per la sua audizione, inviò un video che aveva fatto lui stesso, in cui si era vestito con il suo insegnante di dramma, mentre faceva rap, su quanto avrebbe voluto la parte e fu così che vinse la selezione. Dopo aver completato il primo film della serie Harry Potter e la pietra filosofale (film che uscì negli Stati Uniti con il titolo tradotto), fu ingaggiato come Alan A. Allen in un film inglese intitolato Thunderpants (2002). Nel 2002, 2004 e 2005, ha continuato ad interpretare il ruolo di Ron Weasley nei seguiti Harry Potter e la camera dei segreti, Harry Potter ed il prigioniero di Azkaban, Harry Potter ed il calice di fuoco. Nell’estate del 2006 e’ stato distribuito il film In viaggio con Evie, dove e’ il protagonista a fianco di Laura Linney (L’infiltrato, Amore giovane) e Julie Walters (che interpreta il ruolo della Signora Weasley nei film di Harry). E’ conosciuto per i suoi lavori di doppiaggio con la stazione radiofonifica BBC Radio 4 nei panni di Nigel Molesworth of the Baggy Trousers e per aver prestato la sua voce a Peter Pan in un documentario della BBC.
Nel luglio del 2004 l’attore Rupert Grint ha lasciato Richard Hale School per fare l’esame GCSE [General Certificate of Secondary School e’ il nome di una qualifica che gli studenti delle scuole superiori in Inghilterra, Galles e Irlanda del Nord devono superare all’eta di 14-16 anni] e tra gli altri anche Arte e Tedesco. Quando non lavora, i suoi passatempi spaziano da andare in giro con il suo uniciclo, gli piace disegnare, fare schizzi, giocare a golf e suonare la chitarra. Come Ron Weasley, anche Grint ha dichiarato di avere la paura dei ragni. Nel 2004 alcune fonti hanno dichiarato che l’attore frequenta Ashley Marie e che che sono entrambi felici.

Rupert (Alexander Lloyd) Grint is an English film and televison actor best known for playing Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films.
Grint is the eldest of 5 children born to Nigel Grint, an ex-racecar memorabilia dealer and Jo Parsons, a housewife. He has one brother, James, and 3 sisters: Georgina, Samantha, and Charlotte.
Before being cast in Harry Potter, he had only appeared in plays for school and his local theatre group, 'Top Hat Stage School'. As a young child, he was once cast in a play based on the story of Noah's Ark, as a fish.
A self-proclaimed fan of the Harry Potter book series, young Grint was interested in getting a role in the film. For his audition, he sent a video he made of himself, wherein he dressed as his drama teacher, while rapping about how much he wanted the part and won the casting selection with it. After completing the first Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (released in the United States as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone), he appeared as Alan A. Allen in the British comedy film Thunderpants (2002). In 2002, 2004 and 2005, he again starred as Ron Weasley in the Potter sequels Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Grint also starred in the coming of age story Driving Lessons with Laura Linney and Julie Walters (who played Mrs. Weasley in all the Harry Potter movies), which was released in the summer of 2006.
Also known for his radio and television voice-over work, he appeared as Nigel Molesworth of the Baggy Trousers series for BBC Radio 4 and voiced Peter Pan in a BBC documentary.
Jennifer is my biggest fan" said Rupert. In July 2004, actor Rupert Grint left Richard Hale School, taking his GCSE examinations in, among others, Art and German. When not working, he enjoys learning to ride the unicycle, drawing/sketching, golfing, and playing the guitar. Like Ron Weasley, he has stated that he has a fear of spiders. Also, as of 2004, Rupert has been dating Ashley Marie. Sources of the actor say they are both very happy.
