Per TRANSFORMERS 3 (TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON) parla l'attrice protagonista ROSIE HUNINGTON-WHITELEY che nel film interpreta Carly.
Supermodel Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has revealed how she took a highly challenging, physically demanding role in Michael Bay’s eagerly anticipated third instalment of the Transformers franchise, Dark of the Moon, and loved every minute of it – despite picking up plenty of knocks and bruises. // La supermodella Rosie Huntington-Whiteley ci ha raccontato come abbia affrontato il suo impegnativo e faticoso ruolo nel terzo attesissimo episodio della saga di TRANSFORMERS - TRANSFORMERS; TRANSFORMERS: LA VENDETTA DEL CADUTO
e ora, appunto, TRANSFORMERS 3 (TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON) - e quanto si sia divertita nonostante i graffi e i lividi.
ROSIE HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “I love being physical and I loved doing the action stuff - that for me was when I felt the most present and I really enjoyed that side of it because it was so exciting” she says. // “Adoro l’attività fisica e mi è piaciuto moltissimo girare le scene d’azione, sono quelle in cui mi sono trovata meglio. Mi sono davvero divertita, è stato emozionante”, ha detto.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “The sets are so realistic, there’s gun fire and explosions and it looks like the end of the world and you are running through fire and jumping over broken cars and you’ve got Michael screaming down the megaphone ‘run faster!’" // “I set sono davvero realistici, ci sono sparatorie, esplosioni, sembra davvero la fine del mondo e ci sei tu che corri attraverso le fiamme, salti su macchine sfasciate… tutto ciò mentre Michael al megafono urla “corri più veloce!”
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “It’s exhilarating and so for me the action stuff and the physical side of things was the most exciting part of it. And yes, I did train. I was in reasonable shape before but I made sure I was in good condition” // “È stato esilarante, secondo me le scene d’azione e tutta la parte fisica sono state il momento più emozionante. E sì, certo, mi sono dovuta allenare. Ero abbastanza in forma anche prima di iniziare, ma volevo avere la certezza di essere al meglio”.
Rosie admits that she was nervous before she started work on Dark of the Moon, her first acting role, alongside established stars like Shia LeBeouf, who plays Sam Witwicky, and Patrick Dempsey, who plays her mysterious boss, Dylan, in the film. // Rosie ha ammesso di essere stata nervosa prima di iniziare a lavorare a Transformers 3, la sua prima apparizione come attrice, per altro al fianco di star affermate come Shia LeBeouf, che interpreta Sam Witwicky, e Patrick Dempsey, nei panni di Dylan, il suo misterioso capo.
When the production initially offered her a part in the film she thought that Bay only wanted her for a cameo appearance. // Dopo essere stata contattata dalla produzione per una parte nel film, aveva inizialmente pensato che Bay la volesse solo per un cammeo.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “At first I was so nervous and I’d be totally lying if I said that I didn’t feel anxious about the whole thing.” she says. “I’d never thought that I was ever going to make a film like this, this huge, and when I was cast for this I didn’t even realise what I was casting for. // “All’inizio ero nervosissima, mentirei se dicessi di non essermi sentita ansiosa”, ha affermato. “Non avrei mai immaginato di poter partecipare a un film del genere, così imponente, tant’è che quando sono stata contattata per il provino, non sapevo nemmeno per cosa fosse.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “I actually thought I was casting for a very small role, maybe a cameo role. I wasn’t really sure what it was and then when it transpired to be this very huge role and I was actually going to be the new female lead, it definitely turned me upside down and back to front. It was a big roller coaster of emotions and excitement and absolute terror at times as well!.” // “Pensavo che il provino fosse per un ruolo minore, magari un cammeo. Non mi era molto chiaro cosa dovessi fare e quando ho capito che il ruolo sarebbe stato di questo calibro e che sarei stata la nuova protagonista femminile sono rimasta sconvolta. Ho provato al tempo stesso un turbinio di emozioni contrastanti, dall’eccitazione al terrore puro!”
Rosie plays Carly, Sam’s new girlfriend, following in the famous footsteps of Megan Fox, who played Mikaela in the first two films. // Rosie interpreta Carly, la nuova ragazza di Sam, sulla scia di Megan Fox, Mikaela nei primi due film.
“She’s an English girl and they meet at The White House when Sam’s receiving an award and they sort of fall in love and he moves in with her. Sam’s jobless and she’s really pushing him to get a job and she’s not into all these aliens and all the Decepticons, she’s very nervous around them because it’s a new world for her. // “È una ragazza inglese che Sam conosce alla Casa Bianca mentre riceve un’onorificenza, si innamorano e vanno subito a vivere assieme. Sam è disoccupato e lei insiste molto perché si trovi un lavoro; ovviamente non essendo abituata a tutti questi alieni e ai Decepticon si sente molto nervosa ad averceli attorno, sono qualcosa di totalmente nuovo per lei.
But Sam really believes he should be off saving the world again and she wants him to get a proper job. Her boss, Dylan, is played by Patrick Dempsey and there’s this weird triangle between the three of them. It’s not a love triangle but it turns out to be this kind of dark relationship between the three of them. But I’d better not give too much away!. // “Sam è veramente convinto di avere chiuso col salvare ancora il mondo e lei desidera davvero che lui si trovi un lavoro normale. Dylan, il suo capo, è interpretato da Patrick Dempsey e tra loro tre si viene a creare uno strano triangolo. Non un triangolo amoroso, piuttosto una sorta di relazione torbida. Ma non voglio dire altro!”
Rosie was born and raised in rural Devon in England and first started modelling as a teenager. Now 24, she is established as one of the most successful models in the world, representing leading international brands like Victoria’s Secret and Burberry. // Rosie è nata e cresciuta nelle campagne del Devon, in Inghilterra, e ha iniziato a lavorare come modella già da adolescente. Ora ha 24 anni e si è affermata come una delle modelle di maggior successo al mondo, rappresentando marchi internazionali quali Victoria’s Secret e Burberry.
When the chance to star in Dark of the Moon came up she grabbed it, even though it meant putting many of her modelling assignments on hold. // Quando le si è presentata l’occasione di recitare in Transformers 3 l’ha colta al volo, anche a costo di dover rinunciare a diversi ingaggi come modella.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “I had to put aside a lot of my modelling assignments and my contracts and everything and luckily I was supported by all of my clients and all of my agents and I think that everybody kind of knew this was something that was too good for me to turn down.” // “Sono stata costretta a rinunciare a molti ingaggi come modella, a molti contratti, ma fortunatamente sono stata supportata da tutti i miei clienti e dai miei agenti e penso che abbiano tutti capito che l’occasione fosse troppo importante per lasciarsela scappare.”
Before embarking on the film Bay warned her that she would need to learn how to run – movie style. // Prima di iniziare le riprese, Bay l’ha avvertita che avrebbe dovuto imparare a correre ‘come si corre nei film’.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “That’s sounds silly I know, but you have to run properly on a film set. And it was the one thing that kept coming up. When I first got the film, the whole cast was boys, and they kept looking at me going, ‘can you run?’ // “So che sembra assurdo, ma c’è un modo specifico di correre sul set. È una cosa che è venuta fuori subito. Il primo giorno di riprese tutto il cast era composto da uomini che continuavano a osservarmi e a chiedermi ‘sai correre?’
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “And I was like, ‘well, yeah, of course I can run, what are you talking about?’ Michael was like, ‘you better learn how to run..’ Because apparently, it’s not as easy as it looks, running in a movie, and then I was given a lovely pair of heels to run in so that made it a little more difficult! // “E io ‘beh, sì, certo che so correre, ma che significa?’ E Michael ‘sarebbe il caso che imparassi a correre…’ Correre in un film non è facile come sembra e, considerando che dovevo farlo indossando dei fantastici tacchi, era ancora più difficile!
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “I was able to switch to flats for some of the scenes when we were using different camera angles but a lot of the time I was running around in heels which is not only really hard, it’s quite dangerous at times. So I worked really hard and everyone looked after me. But, you know, I was really up for the challenge – all that running and jumping - and it was fun for me.” // “In alcune scene, in cui si utilizzavano angolazioni diverse, ho anche potuto usare scarpe basse, ma la maggior parte delle volte dovevo correre sui tacchi, che non solo è difficilissimo, ma anche abbastanza pericoloso. Ho lavorato duro e mi hanno aiutata tutti. Diciamo che amo le sfide – tutto quel correre e saltare – quindi mi sono divertita!”
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: A few knocks and bruises were only to be expected, she says. “I remember rolling my ankles a few times and having a few iced bandages put on. And I had a lot of bruises at one point. And then I was told to put on what they call stunt pads. No one had told me that I could wear stunt pads until after I had received all my bruises,” she laughs. // Sapevo di dover mettere in conto un paio di graffi e lividi, ha detto. “Ricordo di essermi storta un paio di volte le caviglie e di averci dovuto applicare del ghiaccio. Poi mi sono riempita di graffi. A quel punto mi è stato detto di mettermi le cosiddette ‘protezioni da stuntman’. Ovviamente nessuno me ne aveva parlato prima che mi riempissi di graffi!” ha detto ridendo.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: "Bay filmed 'Dark of the Moon' using cutting edge 3D technology and Rosie says that the result is spectacular. “I’ve been in the editing room a couple of times with Michael and I have to tell you, it looks absolutely ******* insane!” she says. // Bay ha girato Transformers 3 utilizzando tecnologia 3D cutting-edge e secondo Rosie il risultato è spettacolare. “Sono stata un paio di volte con Michael al montaggio e devo ammettere che è veramente una fi**ta!” ha detto.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “I never thought I’d find beauty in an explosion or a special effect but it looks incredible. It’s unbelievable to see the talent that’s come through this and the skills that are used to make a movie like this. // “Non ho mai pensato di poter trovare affascinanti delle esplosioni o degli effetti speciali, ma sono meravigliosi. È incredibile quanto talento e quanta abilità siano necessari per poter realizzare un film del genere.
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “We shot this whole movie over seven months and you don’t even know what you are doing half the time, because you are acting to nothing or you are running through something that you can’t see or something going on behind you. And then you start seeing stuff on the screen and you go, ‘oh right, that’s what he was talking about. // “Le riprese dell’intero film sono durate più di sette mesi e per metà del tempo non si sa cosa si stia facendo, perché reciti da solo o corri attraverso qualcosa che non puoi vedere o senza sapere cosa accada alle tue spalle. Solo in seguito inizia a prendere forma qualcosa sullo schermo ed è lì che pensi ‘ecco cosa intendeva!’
R. HUNTINGTON-WHITELEY: “Now I understand why he was telling me to look this way and pretend that something was there…’, Because then you see the Autobots and the Decepticons coming in and you see the special effects all being pulled together and it just looks insane and it’s like a whole other movie that I’m now watching and I’m so, so proud of him and I’m really proud of everybody.” // “Ora capisco perché mi diceva di guardare da quella parte facendo finta che ci fosse qualcosa…’ Perché poi vedi arrivare gli Autobot e I Decepticon, vedi gli effetti speciali, tutto prende forma ed è pazzesco, sembra di vedere un altro film. Sono davvero fiera di lui e di ognuno di noi.”
