La regista JESSICA HAUSNER commenta così il suo LOURDES
"'Lourdes' è un racconto crudele: una fantasticheria o un incubo. Malati e morenti del mondo intero si recano a Lourdes per ritrovare la salute. Sperano in un miracolo perché proprio a Lourdes se ne fanno ancora. Peccato che le vie del Signore restino impenetrabili. Lourdes è un luogo in cui si afferma l'esistenza del miracolo, un luogo che è sinonimo di speranza, di conforto e di guarigione per i morenti e i disperati. Tuttavia la speranza che, sulla soglia della morte, tutto potrebbe ancora sistemarsi, è una speranza che sembra assurda quando la vita volge alla fine. Lourdes è la scena in cui si gioca questa commedia umana".

"Lourdes ia a cruel tale - a daydream or a nightmare. The sick and dying from all over the world head to Lourdes to be healed. They hope in a miracle precisely because in Lourdes miracles still happen. What a shame that the Lord's ways are still impenetrable. Lourdes is a place where miracles are still said to take place, a place that is a synonym for hope, comfort and healing for the dying and the desperate. However, on the verge of death, the hope that everything might still be alright, is one that seems absurd when a life is coming to an end. Lourdes is the scene where this human comedy takes place".
