- Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino and Imogen Poots’ lives revolve around a 60-show, 43-city tour in the new teaser for Cameron Crowe’s upcoming Showtime music drama “Roadies.” Set to Bronze Radio Return’s “Light Me Up,” the trailer — released on Friday — spotlights life on tour for the titular crew of an arena-rock band who lives for music and the family they’ve formed away from home. “This tour is like a Fellini film crossed with a ‘Monkees’ episode,” one roadie says. Wilson plays the band tour manager who has a “unique” relationship with Gugino’s production manager. The 10-episode, hourlong show is written and executive produced by Winnie Holzman, J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk and Len Goldstein. Kathy Lingg is co-executive producer. Crowe, who helmed 2000’s “Almost Famous,” created, wrote, executive produced and directed “Roadies,” which marks his first television series. Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor, Colson Baker (aka Machine Gun Kelly) and Ron White star in the ensemble cast, which also includes guest stars Luis Guzman, Jacqueline Byers, Finesse Mitchell, Branscombe Richmond and Tanc Sade. Showtime gave a series order to the long-gestating drama late last year. The pilot was initially shot in 2014 with Christina Hendricks as the female lead. “Roadies” premieres June 26 on Showtime.
