Anthony Hopkins Joins 'Transformers 5'. Mark Wahlberg will return for the next installment of Michael Bay's blockbuster franchise.

- Anthony Hopkins has joined the cast of Transformers: The Last Knight. Michael Bay will direct the fifth installment of the Paramount franchise that sees giant robots battle for intergalactic supremacy. Mark Wahlberg will be back to star as the disgraced scientist turned hero, Cade Yeager, and, after a brief one-movie hiatus, Josh Duhamel will also be returning to the franchise as the ever-vigilant Lt. Colonel Lennox. No details were given about the role the English actor will be playing.
The announcement was made on the Transformers Twitter page with a message that read: "The man, the myth, the legend – help us welcome Sir Anthony Hopkins to the #transformers universe." Hopkins casting news comes on the heels (or paws) of another Last Knight casting. Yesterday, Bay announced that Freya, an epileptic six-year-old Staffordshire bull terrier that was last month dubbed "Britain's loneliest dog", would have a role in the fifth Transformers movie. Hopkins will next be seen in theaters this August, in the Nicholas Hoult starrer Collide. The Transformers films have grossed over $3.7 billion at the worldwide box office, a number that will only continue to rise when The Last Knight hits theater on June 23, 2017.
