Keith Stanfield Joins Jordan Peele Horror Pic ‘Get Out’: Emily Blunt In Talks For ‘Mary Poppins’ Sequel

19/02/2016 - Exclusive: Keith Stanfield has added to his busy schedule by joining the cast of Jordan Peele’s upcoming Blumhouse horror pic Get Out. Peele wrote and is directing the film, billed as a fresh take on the horror-thriller genre that focuses on a young African American man who visits his Caucasian girlfriend’s family estate. QC Entertainment and Blumhouse Productions are producing, with Jason Blum and QC Entertainment principals Sean McKittrick and Edward H. Hamm Jr. producing. It’s executive produced by Blumhouse’s Couper Samuelson alongside QC’s Ray Mansfield and Shaun Redick. Get Out stars Catherine Keener, Allison Williams, Daniel Kaluuya, Caleb Landry Jones, Lil Rel Howery and Betty Gabriel. Stanfield’s role is being kept under wraps for now.
Stanfield recently had a scene-stealing cameo as Snoop Doggie Dogg in the NWA biopic Straight Outta Compton, and will next be seen in Don Cheadle’s Miles Davis biopic Miles Ahead, and in the Edward Snowden drama Snowden. He’s also appearing in the FX series Atlanta, and in the satirical war film War Machine, which stars Brad Pitt. Previous credits include The Purge: Anarchy, Selma, and Dope He’s repped by CAA and Colin Stark.

Emily Blunt is in talks to play Mary Poppins in Disney’s live action sequel to the classic 1964 film. That film was based on P.L. Travers’ 1934 book of the same name while the sequel, currently untitled, will draw from the 7 subsequent Mary Poppins books Travers published between 1935 and 1988. To be set in Depression-era London, the Mary Poppins sequel will focus on a now-grown Michael Banks, who has children of his own. In tough times, big sister Jane returns and they are thrilled when their beloved Mary Poppins comes back to help. Rob Marshall, attached to direct, is producing along with Marc Platt and John DeLuca. Original songs and an all-new score will be written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, the duo behind the Broadway musical version of Hairspray. The script will be written by Finding Neverland scribe David Magee is attached to write the screenplay. Blunt is repped by CAA, The Artists Partnership, and ID Pr.
