CLINT EASTWOOD INSIGNITO 'CAVALIERE' DA CHIRAC

- Clint Eastwood e’ ora un cavaliere della Legione d’Onore di Francia. L’attore e regista e’ stato insignito sabato dal Presidente Francese Jacques Chirac, che ha detto che Eastwood rappresenta “il meglio di Hollywood”.
Chirac ha definito Eastwood, che ha 76 anni, un “ambasciatore eccezionale” della cultura americana nel mondo. “Ho appena finito di essere un regista giapponese per un film e la mia piu’ grande ambizione e’ che un giorno possa fare un film francese, cosi da diventare anche un regista francese” ha replicato Eastwood, riferendosi al suo film Lettere da Iwo Jima nominato per gli Oscar. Napoleone Bonaparte creo’ la Legione d’Onore nel 1802. Riconosce i contributi alla Francia nei campi militare, culturale, scientifico e sociale, vengono incluse nell’onorificenza anche i non cittadini francesi.

Clint Eastwood is now a knight in France’s Legion of Honour. The actor and director was indicted Saturday by French President Jacques Chirac, who said Eastwood represents “the best of Hollywood”. Chirac called Eastwood, 76, an “exceptional ambassador” for American culture around the world. “I’ve just finished being a Japanese director on a film and my great ambition one a day is to do a French film, become a French director” replied Eastwood, referring to his Oscar-nominated Letters from Iwo Jima. Napoleon Bonaparte created the Legion d’Honneur in 1802. It recognizes military, cultural, scientific or social contributions to France, including by people who are not French citizens.
