Ritratto amorevole del padre Cary in un memoriale a firma dell'unica figlia Jennifer Grant

La figlia unica di CARY GRANT, Jennifer Grant, sta scrivendo un memoriale; la prima volta che offre uno sguardo in profondità al suo famoso padre.
"Sara’ un ritratto amorevole di un uomo che era una specie di babbo meraviglioso. Ma mentre lo leggi, allo stesso tempo esclami 'Questo e’ Cary Grant!'", dice Victoria Wilson, vice-presidente e editore senior di Alfred A. Knopf, che ha in programma di pubblicare il libro GOOD STUFF, al piu’ presto nel 2008.
Jennifer Grant, 40 anni, e’ la figlia di Grant e dell’attrice Dyan Cannon, che furono sposati brevemente negli anni 60 prima di separarsi in maniera brusca.
Wilson dice che Jennifer non aveva intenzione di scrivere della separazione dei genitori, ma di concentrarsi sul sua rapporto con il padre, che era nei sui primi 60 anni d’eta’ quando lei nacque, nel 1966, anno in cui egli si ritiro’ dalla carriera di attore. Cary Grant morì nel 1986 all’eta’ di 82 anni.
GOOD STUFF includerà lettere e fotografie che non sono mai state pubblicate prima, reminescenze di amici di famiglia e cassette audio di conversazioni casalinghe che l’attore aveva registrato.
Wilson racconta che incontro’ Jennifer Grant, che ha al suo attivo di carriera di attrice ruoli in Beverly Hills 90210 e Friends e che le piacque "e’ molto abile, molto attraente. Ha un modo di fare molto accattivante. E’ molto disarmante".
"Il libro metterà insieme quella brillante invenzione che era Cary Grant e l’essere umano che era sia babbo che figlio. Nessuno e’ mai stato capace di fare questo prima", dice Wilson.
L’acquisizione di GOOD STUFF e’ stata annunciata per la prima volta martedì 14 novembre 2006 da un notiziario della Publishers Lunch.

DAUGHTER OF GRANT TO WRITE MEMOIR

Cary Grant’s only child, Jennifer Grant, is writing a memoir; the first time she has offered an in-deph look at her famous father.
"It’s going to be a loving portrait of this man who was sort of an amazing daddy. But as you’re reading it, you’re also saying 'This is Cary Grant!'", said Victoria Wilson, a vice-president and senior editor at Alfred A. Knopf, which plans to publish the book, GOOD STUFF, in 2008 at the earliest.
Jennifer Grant, 40, is the daughter of Grant and actress Dyan Cannon, who were married briefly in the 1960s before separating and bitterly divorcing.
Wilson said Jennifer Grant was not planning to write about her parents’ break-up, focusing instead on her close relationship with father, who was in his early 60s when she was born, in 1966, and retired from acting the same year. Cary Grant died in 1986 at age 82.
GOOD STUFF will include letters and photographs that have never been published, reminiscences from family friends and audiotapes of household conversation recorded by the actor.
Wilson said she has met with Jennifer Grant, whose acting credits include Beverly Hills 90210 and Friends and found her "<5>very smart, very appealing. She has a sort of winsomeness about her. She’s very disarming".
"The book will bring together this highly polished invention who was Cary Grant and the human being who was both daddy and a son. No one’s ever been able to do that before", Wilson said.
The acquisition of GOOD STUFF was first announced on Tuesday November 14, 2006 by the industry newsletter Publishers Lunch.
