- Jurassic Park co-stars Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum will be reunited at the Deauville Film Festival, where both Oscar nominees are set to receive career tributes, organizers announced Tuesday.
Dern, who has been seen on the small screen in the Emmy-nominated Big Little Lies and Twin Peaks, was called a "Lynchean muse par excellence" by festival organizers recognizing her work in David Lynch's Blue Velvet, Inland Empire and the Palme d'Or winner Wild at Heart. Dern is next slated to appear in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, directed by Ron Howard. Goldblum, set to star in the next installment of the dinosaur adventure Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, as well as Thor: Rangnarok, was praised by organizers as an actor of "elegance" and "emotion." Michelle Rodriguez, who won the best actress award at the festival in 2000 for her role in Karyn Kusama's Girlfight, will also receive a career honor. Since that film she has continued to embody "the roles of independent and strong women, the real heroines of cinema," organizers said, citing her roles in the Fast and the Furious series and Avatar. The Deauville Film Festival is set to take place Sept. 1-10 in northern France.
