67° Festival del Cinema di Berlino (9-19 febbraio) - Alec Baldwin's 'Blind' Goes to Vertical Entertainment. Michael Mailer's romantic drama also stars Demi Moore and Dylan McDermott
09/02/2017
- Vertical Entertainment has acquired North American rights to Michael Mailer’s romantic drama Blind starring Alec Baldwin, Demi Moore and Dylan McDermott.
The film centers on a novelist (Baldwin) who was blinded in a car crash that killed his wife. He rediscovers his passion for both life and writing when he embarks on an affair with the neglected wife (Moore) of an indicted businessman (McDermott).
Vertical is planning a late summer/early fall 2017 theatrical release. Foresight Unlimited will be selling the international rights to the film at the Berlin market.
"Making a movie is like raising a child: you pour your heart and soul into raising an interesting, well-rounded human before sending her off to what you hope will be the right college. With Vertical, I feel like my baby is getting Ivy League treatment," says Mailer. Martin Tuchman, Mailer, Diane Fisher, Pamela Thur, and Jennifer Gelfer produced the film, which has a script by John Buffalo Mailer. The deal was negotiated by Rich Goldberg and Peter Jarowey at Vertical, and Creative Artists Agency, which represents Baldwin, Moore, and McDermott.
