Julia Roberts’ ‘Wonder,’ Miles Teller’s ‘Granite Mountain’ Get 2017 Release Dates

- Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay’s “Wonder” adaptation will hit theaters on April 7, 2017, Lionsgate announced on Tuesday, along with the release dates of Miles Teller firefighter pic Granite Mountain and Pantelion comedy How to Be a Latin Lover.
Granite Mountain is now scheduled to bow on Sept. 22, 2017, and How to Be a Latin Lover on April 28, 2017. Roberts plays the mother of “Room” breakout Tremblay in “Wonder,” based on the novel by Raquel J. Palacio. The drama tells the story of August Pullman, who, born with facial differences that prevented him from going to a mainstream school earlier in life, becomes an unlikely hero when he enters the local fifth grade. Producers are Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman. Summit Entertainment’s “Granite Mountain” also stars Josh Brolin, Jennifer Connelly, Jeff Bridges, Taylor Kitsch and James Badge Dale, along with Teller. Based on the real-life Granite Mountain Hotshots, the actioner follows an elite group of firefighters that battled the Yarnell Hill Fire, one of the deadliest wildfires in history, to save an Arizona town. Ken Nolan and Eric Warren Singer wrote the script. Joseph Kosinski directs, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Menchel, Molly Smith, Trent Luckinbill, Thad Luckinbill, Erik Howsam, Jeremy Steckler and Dawn Ostroff producing. Eugenio Derbez, Rob Lowe, Kristen Bell and Raquel Welch star in “How to Be a Latin Lover,” which follows a fading gigolo who’s kicked out of the house by his aged mistress. He’s forced to return to live with his estranged sister and her pre-teen son, and focuses on finding another sugar mama to support his expensive tastes. Ken Marino directs from a script by Chris Spain and Jon Zack. Derbez and Ben Odell serve as producers.
