    BAFTA Awards: ‘Brooklyn,’ ‘The Revenant’ Take Early Prizes (Updating Live)

    14/02/2016 - Brooklyn is the first winner at the BAFTA awards, taking the outstanding British film prize.

    The Revenant won for best cinematography.

    The 69th British Academy Film Awards are in progress in London’s Royal Albert Hall with Todd Haynes’ “Carol” and Steven Spielberg’s  “Bridge of Spies” leading the awards nominations with nine apiece, including Best Picture and Best Director. Alejandro G. Inarritu’s “The Revenant” has eight noms. Brit thesp Stephen Fry hosts the ceremony which is being attended by celebs including Alicia Vikander, Kate Winslet, Mark Ruffalo, John Boyega, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Steven Spielberg, Leonardo DiCaprio and Cuba Gooding Junior.
