Emma (Charlotte Duerre) Watson e’ un’attrice inglese che ha raggiunto la fama interpretando il ruolo di Hermione Granger nella serie dei film di Harry Potter.
Emma Watson e’ la piu grande dei due figli nati da Chris e Jacqueline Watson, due avvocati inglesi che all’epoca, vivevano in Francia, ha un fratello minore che si chiama Alex Law. Fino all’eta’ di cinque anni ha vissuto a Parigi, poi si e’ trasferita con la madre ed il fratello a Oxford, in Inghilterra, dopo il divorzio dei genitori. Durante le scuole elementari Watson ha frequentato una scuola privata, 'The Dragon School', fino al giugno del 2003. dopo di che Watson ha frequentato una scuola privata per sole ragazze a Oxford, la Headington School. Nel giugno 2006 Watson ha dato l’esame GCSE [General Certificate of Secondary School' e’ il nome di una qualifica che gli studenti delle scuole superiori in Inghilterra, Galles e Irlanda del Nord devono superare all’eta di 14-16 anni] per 10 materie che includono: scienze, inglese, matematica, francese, spagnolo, latino, geografia, arte e storia, ed ha ricevuto 8 “A+” e 2 “A”. Sta attualmente studiando per il suo Advanced Subsidiary (AS) [una qualifica generalmente ottenuta dagli studenti del Regno Unito alla fine dei due anni della scuola secondaria. Non e’ una qualifica obbligatoria come il GCSE] (per questo esame le materie non sono conosciute). Questa qualificazione la porterà ad un alto livello d’istruzione. Watson pratica molti sport ed il suo interesse per la musica (aggiornamento alla primavera 2006) include il canto, hip hop, blues, ed il rock classico, compreso Eminem, Eric Clapton, U2 e Nelly Furtado.
Ha dichiarato che il fatto di essere famosa le sembra essere, in parte, il motivo per cui ancora non ha un ragazzo, dicendo: "I ragazzi o sono intimiditi o alzano le difese oppure, piace loro farmi arrabbiare".
Prima del suo ruolo nei film di Harry Potter, l’esperienza di recitazione di Watson era limitata, consistendo solo in ruoli nelle recite scolastiche, incluso Arthur: The Young Years and the Happy Prince. Altre attività scolastiche comprendevano Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition nella quale, all’eta’ di 7 anni vinse il primo premio per quell’anno. Nonostante i giornalisti dicessero che Watson rifiutava di firmare il contratto per apparire negli ultimi 2 film della serie Harry Potter, il suo impegno e’ stato confermato verso la fine di marzo 2007 dalla Warner Bros. In quel momento lei commento’: "Non potrei mai lasciare andare Hermione… e’ la mia eroina! Mi piace cosi tanto e adoro interpretarne il ruolo. Sono eccitata ed onorata di terminare cosa avevo iniziato e recitare in tutti e sette i film". All’eta’ di quindici anni, Watson divenne la persona piu’ giovane ad apparire sulla copertina della rivista "Teen Vogue" fino all’apparizione di Willa Holland. Ha fatto persino parte di una giuria, nel 2004 alla cerimonia del 'Film Award' tenutasi a Leicester Square a Londra, insieme a Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh e Samantha Morton per la scelta di un giovane regista. Ha anche recitato il ruolo di Hermione ne The Queen’s Handbag una mini serie speciale in onore dell’ottantesimo compleanno della Regina Elisabetta II.

Emma (Charlotte Duerre) Watson is a British actress who rose to fame playing the role of Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series.
Emma Watson is the elder of two children born to Chris and Jacqueline Watson, English lawyers who lived in France at the time; she has a younger brother named Alex Law. She spent her first years living in Paris until age five, then moved with her mother and brother to Oxford, England, when her parents divorced.
During her primary school years, Watson attended ‘The Dragon School’, a private preparatory school, until June 2003. Afterward, Watson attended Headington School, a private all-girls school in Oxford from 2003. In June of 2006 Watson sat GCSE examinations in 10 subjects which included: Science, English, Mathematics, French, Spanish, Latin, Geography, Art and History, receiving 8 A+ and 2 A grades. She is currently studying for her Advanced Subsidiary (AS) levels (these subjects are unknown). This qualification will lead to her A Levels and into higher education.
Watson is an avid sports player and her musical interests (as of Spring 2005) include singing, hip hop, blues, and classic rock, including Eminem, Eric Clapton, U2 and Nelly Furtado.
She has said that she feels her celebrity status is partly responsible for her not having a boyfriend, stating: "Guys are either intimidated by me, or they have defences up, or they like to take the piss out of me."
Prior to her role in the Harry Potter films, Watson's acting experience was limited, consisting only of minor roles in school plays, including Arthur: The Young Years and The Happy Prince. Other school activities included the Daisy Pratt Poetry Competition, in which, at the age of seven, she won first place for her year.
Watson was eleven years old when Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone was released. She has since appeared in all subsequent Potter films: Chamber of Secrets (2002), Prisoner of Azkaban (2004), and Goblet of Fire (2005), and has finished filming Order of the Phoenix. Despite reports saying Watson refused to sign a contract to appear in the final two Potter instalments, her commitment to the final two films was confirmed in late March 2007 by Warner Brothers. At the time she said "I could never let Hermione go--she is my hero! I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me. I am excited and honoured to be finishing what I started and playing her in all seven of the films." At age fifteen, Watson became the youngest person to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue magazine until the appearance of Willa Holland. She also served on a jury, along with Pierce Brosnan, Kenneth Branagh, and Samantha Morton, to select the 2004 teen-aged filmmakers' First Light for the ‘Film Award’ ceremony in Leicester Square in London. She also played Hermione in The Queen's Handbag, a special mini-episode of Harry Potter in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday.
